Map blocks is inspired by the footprint and map marks of now obsolete gasworks buried beneath Edinburgh’s streets

Gas holders were once common place and familiar to the skyline of towns and cities. But since 1960s with the discovery of natural gas these structures have become obsolete industrial relics.

Constructed from thirty six square wooden blocks and displayed on the roof at the Leith Theatre as part of 2019 HiddenDoor Festival.
